Spotlight on Small Business


Starting at 8:30 a.m. ten small businesses will have an opportunity to highlight their capabilities and business objectives in a ten minute presentation to an audience of government and large prime representatives. These sessions will take place on Thursday morning. Following lunch, there will be one-on-one matchmaking sessions between small businesses and government agencies and prime contractors.

Here are the guidelines to follow:

To participate in the Spotlight on Small Business, you must first register for the conference - Be sure to check the Spotlight on Small Business on the registration form to register as a small business presenter or audience member.

Small Business Presenter:
If you are registering as a small business presenter you will need to follow the link to the Small Business Presenters. Only ten presentation spots are available and the on-line registration will be processed in the order submitted. Once the slots are filled other companies registered will be placed on a waiting list. If a business drops out, the waiting list will be used to fill the slot based on the order of your registration. Make sure that you complete all the business fields on the Spotlight on Small Business Data Sheet. Information from the registration form will be used to generate a company profile that will be given to the audience participants. Your company will be given a ten minute slot for your presentation which will be sometime between 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning October 15. We will send you an e-mail of your time slot prior to the event. The presentation should be a PowerPoint presentation on your company's capabilities. The PowerPoint presentation must be brought on a thumb drive to be loaded onto a computer.

Waiting List Instructions:
If your firm is placed on the waiting list, please know that you will still be able to visit the prime contractors and government representatives during the one-on-one sessions the afternoon of Thursday October 15. If a presentation slot opens up prior to the conference, you will receive an e-mail asking you to accept or reject the opening. If a slot becomes available during the conference, we will make participants aware by general notice at the conference. If you accept an opening you must have your PowerPoint presentation on a thumb drive to be loaded on the computer.

One-on-One Sessions:
The one-on-one sessions will take place the afternoon of Thursday October 15th. There will be members of the committee at the conference registration table on October 14th and outside the presentation room in the morning to make appointments. The appointments will start at 2:00 p.m. and finish at 4:00 with 15 minute time slots. It is expected that 35-40 government agencies and prime contractors will participate.

Government Agencies and Prime Contractors:
To participate in the Spotlight on Small Business you must first register for the conference - Be sure to check the Spotlight on Small Business on the registration form to register as a audience member and participant in the one-on-one appointments. The registration form for the spotlight on small business request information on small business opportunities that will be coming up for the remainder of 2009 and 2010. We are also asking you to state if there are any type of small businesses that you are NOT looking for which will be helpful with the scheduling of the one-on-one sessions.
